Established in 1995, Precision Poly Pty Ltd is a privately owned Rotational moulding company. The company commenced operations manufacturing water and liquid storage tanks.
Precision Poly is a Rotational moulding company which prides itself on producing quality polyethylene rainwater tanks, as outlined at the bottom of this page.
Precision Poly Pty Ltd was founded in 1995 by Malcolm Baird. Prior to this he spent 10 years in custom Rotomoulding of industrial products. The wealth of experience he gained in this field enabled him confidently to embark on his own products. The “Slimline” designed by him and in conjunction with a toolmaker uniquely addressed the vast void that existed in the suburban domestic market. Many moulders emulated this original design.
What makes Precision Poly Water Tanks stand out from the crowd (apart from being the lowest price)?
Most slimline tank manufactures are having difficulties in maintaining a uniform wall section throughout the tank to comply with the published Australian Standard AUS/NZS 4766:2006 - In order to meet the minimum wall thickness test, they invariably resort to making other parts of the product substantially thicker.... but this is not an elegant solution. The uneven wall sections precipitate stress cracking and could result in premature failure and warranty claims.
Poly Water Tanks are Different
All Poly Water tanks are manufactured using a high tech moulding plant -
the only one of its kind in the Southern Hemisphere. This machine is fully automated and computer controlled to verify all important quality data from within the mould while the tank is being moulded.
A "Best Practice" Approach
Precision Poly operate using a best practise approach - on the basis of “from cradle to tomb“ to ensure best practises results at every step of the manufacturing process. This means they collaborate with their raw material manufacturers & suppliers of the micronised moulding powder to ensure adequate antioxidants levels to prevent the release of carcinogenic substances. |

All Precision Poly Water Tanks are Green!
The manufacturing process used to make every Precision Poly polyurethane water tank is environmentally friendly. The burners employed to melt the plastic are the latest in low carbon emission design. Compared to conventional burners in use throughout the industry Precision Poly manage a 61% reduction in carbon dioxide emission. The total energy cost for their plant is reduced by 38%.
This coupled with a 20% reduction in raw material usage per tank has a substantial knock-on effect, resulting in cost savings, thus benefiting the economy, the environment and you!
So, apart from all tanks being green as outlined above - they come in the largest colour range available of all water tank manufacturers. With 24 colours to choose from, you can be sure to find a colour that will match your requirements exactly, without having to make do with something that may be a compromise.

How Much Water Can you Catch?
A simple calculation will determine your potential water catchment - for every m2 of roof you have you will receive approx 1 litre of water for every 1mm of rain that falls. Multiply your total m2 of roof area (roof pitch does not alter the amount of catchment) by your annual rainfall average and you will have the total potential catchment for a year.
