Boral Designerblock provides a dynamic range of colours and face textures to
create internal and external walls with unique architectural character.
ADVANTAGES
Boral designerblock is manufactured with a pre-sealing additive designed to
reduce water absorption, and hence reduce the chance of efflorescence, mould
and mild staining. To be effective, the pre-sealed block must be laid in mortar
containing the Boral recommended mortar additive.
FACE TEXTURES
Smooth
Smooth
Face - a finely textured finish created through the standard
moulding process (Prices as shown)
Split Faced
Split
Face - The splitting process produces a bold textured, exposed
aggregate finish.
Honed
Honed
Face - the honing process grinds 2-3mm off the product surface.
This produces a matt finish with soft yet accentuated colour and aggregate
matrix. This finish contrasts well with Polished blockwork (price is extra)
Shot-Blast
Shot-Blast
Face - This process exposes the aggregates, leaving them slightly
proud of the matrix. Texturing can be varied from a light dusting that just
exposes the aggregates to a deeper, more prominent texture. Additionally
a template or mask can be placed over areas of the product during shot-blasting,
to achieve a unique finish known as 'Mask-and-Blast' (price is extra)
Polished
Polished
Face - This involves grinding back the block face and buffing to
a satin finish. Polishing enriches the colour and maximizes the contrast
between aggregates and matrix material to produce a visually exciting finish.
Polished blocks are ideal for feature walls, entrance ways, trim and banding.
* Ends - Honed, Shot-Blast or Polished finishes are available on the end
of blocks for corners, openings and free ends (price is extra)
